Bude Beach Pastors

Have you considered becoming a Beach Pastor?  Read on to discover how you could help

A chance to have a presence in the community.

People from all our areas use the beach at Summerleaze in Bude so why don’t you come along and be a welcome face, offering a cup of tea/coffee a chat at the beach hut, and if you feel energetic have a game of beach volley ball.

Bring your church along and have a day at the beach hut and engage with those around you.

Cornwall Council, the Police and Crime Commissioner are backing our scheme to be a positive presence on the beaches and for us to be a signpost to services which people could benefit from.

You could engage with youngsters who would otherwise find themselves getting into trouble, or you could have a friendly chat with someone who is lonely and would appreciate your time, or just have fun in the sun with those who use the beaches. You could even start a knit and Sea, or be creative with the children. Endless opportunities to be a church who cares.

Aims:

To be friendly

To be a listening ear

To signpost people

To engage with youngsters and families

To be a positive presence of the church

What it is not:

To be bible bashers

Essentials:

A willingness to serve God

A valid DBS (Can be obtained)

T-shirts, will be available

It would be useful if your church could produce a colourful leaflet with all your details on and the activities you have.
