The Methodist Church

Bude & Holsworthy Circuit (24/11)

Hi I’m now in my 6th year of ministry as a Deacon having had 5yrs in Barnsley in the north of England, where I was working alongside mainly 4 churches but helping out with 5 others due to colleagues illness. This was made up of rural ex mining villages who have suffered over the years with pit closure and family breakdowns. For more information on what is a deacon please visit our website.

A lot of my ministry was focused on deprived areas working with families who struggled with daily living. A lot of my time was taken up with a women’s refuge and trying to bring hope and love to people whose lives had been turned upside down.

I believe my ministry is one of incarnational living, where we live out the gospel in those difficult places trying to be the hands, feet, and mouthpiece for Christ. It’s where I believe also that we find Christ so often in those lives that we don’t see come through our church doors. A deacon is often the person who stands on the other side of the door of the church helping those outside to connect or reconnect with God.

I am excited about the future mission of Bude Methodist and the potential to be a church where people feel so welcomed so loved and so valued that they see Christ in each and every one of us and they then come to see Christ in themselves. As a Christian we are all called to be part of the ‘missio dei’ the mission of God and if we persevere with our differences and accept one another in Love then we will achieve that. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues in the Methodist church and to also working alongside our ecumenical brothers and sisters in the circuit..

I will be based at the back to Bude Methodist Church so please call in for a chat anytime, or contact me on 01409478354 or
