Bude & Holsworthy Circuit (24/11)

In July 2019 the Methodist Conference discussed the report on Marriage & Relationships which resulted in Districts Synods being asked to vote at their spring 2020 meeting on the resolutions approved by the Conference.

At the recent September Bude & Holsworthy Circuit Meeting notification was given of three circuit events that would be held to discuss and inform the circuit on the resolution regarding marriage & relationships. Attached you will find a copy of the resolution.

A vote by the Circuit will be made at the March 2020 Circuit Meeting which the result will be notified to the District to notify it of the mind of the Circuit.

The dates and venues for these events are:

Monday 4th Nov, 7:30pm at Bude MC

Thursday 7th Nov, 7:30pm at Bradworthy MC

Saturday 9th Nov, 10.00am at Holsworthy MC

To help our circuit in understanding the objective and tone of this resolution you are requested to view this short video clip from the Methodist Church before attending one of these events:

A Study Guide has also been produced by the Methodist Church and is attached (hard copies have been ordered).

Other Methodist organisations have commented on the report (attached are the reports by MET & Dignity and Worth):

MET (Methodist evangelical together) - remaining faithful

Dignity & Worth - United in Love

As a circuit, our aim is to remember that while we will have differing view points, some of which will be very strong, we also remember God's grace and love given to each and every person. We expect the same dignity and grace shown to us to be reflected at our meetings.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you.
